A seasoned orthopaedic surgeon of over 30 years, Dr Yung Shing Wai has special interest in foot and ankle surgery, specialising in bunion treatment. He was the first fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon in Singapore.
Dr Yung graduated from the National University of Singapore and subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also completed his sub-specialty fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at University of Washington in Seattle.
Having served as the founding director of the Foot and Ankle Service of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Dr Yung has extensive clinical experience in advanced techniques of bunion surgery. To date, he has performed numerous complex and innovative procedures for bunion correction with good patient outcomes.
With his reassuring and approachable demeanour, this puts patients at ease and allows for effective communication, thereby establishing a strong rapport with his patients. This collaborative patient-doctor relationship allows him to formulate holistic, tailored care with patients’ needs and concerns in mind.
